Week 4-tragedy strikes!

It's inevitable.  There's just no way of avoiding a disasterous day to come knocking at your door.  For me, it came in the form of a bug...a flu bug to be exact.  And it cost me a couple pounds.  Seriously, I lost weight on this bugger.  So it hit me on Tuesday night.  And though I hadn't up-chucked since Wednesday morning I was still pretty nauseous and dizzy on Thursday.  I felt like there was no avoiding going though.  There were just too many people who might never come back if right as we started I just failed to show up.

So I went....

I didn't have my head with me at all.  Not literally of course.  I'm not some freakish dancing Zombie.  Other than Michael's version of the dancing Zombie, I don't think Zombie's like dancing.   But regardless, I just wasn't fully there.  It could have been worse, for sure.  I mean i didn't throw up on anyone or anything.  That's a real plus.  I just kept forgetting steps, and to top it all off, someone was recording the whole thing.  :(

WEEK 3

We just finished our third week.  It was crazy!  I can't believe how many people showed up.  We had almost 25.  That's nearly quadruple what we had the first 2 weeks.  It's been an intense change in my life.  I am most definitely feeling the work out each week.  There's hardly a muscle in my body that hasn't noticed the change.  :)

Even with all the pain though, I look forward every week...Just waiting until Thursday comes and I get to get my Zumba on.  It's totally worth it all.  We've finally built up our workout so that it takes almost the full hour now.

I just can't believe I'm doing this.  It's so freeing to have something that is just for me.  I'm not doing this for my kids, I'm not doing this for my husband, I get to do this for me.  And I love it!

p.s.  my follow up will be coming up shortly to see how my bones are doing.  I hope this is working!

Class 1

I was scared.  I mean who wouldn't be?  This was the first class.  But it had to be done.  No matter when i finally took the plunge it would be a scary experience.

There were 3 people at my first class.  Which for me, was GREAT!  I didn't have to feel overwhelmed with and audience.  Instead it was small intimate and well... a ton of fun!  Anyone who know's Zumba, knows that.  You just can't have a class and not have fun.

It's really great to finally have it done with though.  I feel a lot more confident in my skills and abilities.  I was really worried about cueing and things like that.  I didn't want my whole class fumbling around while I poorly demonstrated what to do.  It wasn't like that at all.  Everyone did great and now I'm ready and rearing for week 2.
